A scheduled check runs inside the service every five minutes. It asks the database for an answer, looks at the work waiting in the queue, and records the result. A day's uptime is the share of those five-minute slots that produced a healthy result, so an outage of the application, the database or the scheduler itself shows up as missing checks and counts against the day.
This is measurement from inside the service, not an independent monitor, and it is honest about what that means: it cannot see a network fault between you and us, and the page is cached for a minute. Incidents are written by the people who run the service, and stay on this page after they are resolved. The same figures are available as JSON at /status.json if you want to watch them yourself.
